Team CWAP for the Chicago AIDS Run & Walk 2017
Each year CWAP participates in the AIDS Run & Walk to raise awareness and encourage support for HIV services for women. We had beautiful weather, and Team CWAP ran/walked the 10k or 5k on Sunday, October 1 at Soldier Field!
Pink Hat Run 5k
CWAP was represented at the Pink Hat Run to bring together the momentum and energy of the current women’s movement to help organizations that provide services and support to women and the causes most important to them. The 5k was on Saturday, November 4th, and the weather was not forgiving, but Cathy ran on!

CWAP at AIDS Watch
“On the weekend of the 27th of February, I attended the AIDS United event, AIDS Watch, in Washington D.C. It was an amazing as well as educational experience for me. I met advocates and activists from around the world. We came together and shared how HIV treatment differs from state to state as well as ways to reduce stigma, strengthen advocacy, and how to share our personal story to make a difference. I also learned about the criminalization laws surrounding HIV and how it differs in each state. We’ve come a long way, but we still have a long way to go. We need you to get involved! CWAP is starting a new workshop, the Peer Action Program. All Peer Ambassadors graduates qualify to sign up.”
